About us
Our mission at Lake Oconee Bistro is to bring the 100-year-old building to life with great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Here at the Lake, we want to be known as the go-to casual family restaurant for all occasions. This building, formally known as The Magnolia House, has a tremendous history and we want to continue that tradition. The kitchen turns out dishes like shrimp and grits, Cedar Plank Salmon, and the Jacked Up Smash Burger, each prepared with care and variety in mind. Guests can enjoy dine-in service, plan a gathering, or order ahead when it suits their day.
Lake Oconee Bistro Taphouse & Wine Bar is created by people who love the Lake, share a passion for good food and a desire for a new local place for all to enjoy. Our team, headed by restaurant veterans Gary Sofen and William Burklo are passionate about using the finest ingredients, making people happy and "keeping it local". The Bistro Team is committed to providing a unique restaurant that is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. In addition, we have two private venue spaces, The Magnolia Room and The Sandbar which are available for any and all events.
